Our Evolution
In 1953, in the heart of Detroit, Rocco Colasanti, originally from Ceprano, Italy, alongside his sons Alfred and Angelo, laid the foundation of an indelible legacy in the concrete industry. The Colasanti Cement Floor Company Inc. began as an earnest endeavor to pioneer new methodologies in concrete applications, swiftly escalating from concrete flooring to elaborate deep foundations and high-rise structural constructs.
Rocco’s death in 1969 marked the end of an era, but his substantial contributions of wisdom and strategic growth created a strong base for the following generations. His pioneering spirit and Angelo’s subsequent leadership propelled our company into the spotlight of large-scale automotive and industrial concrete placements, marking our ascent as an industry innovator from the 1970s to the 1990s.
Angelo’s visionary leadership has monumentally shaped the American concrete industry. Esteemed for his role and guidance within the American Concrete Institute (ACI) committees, he has been pivotal in crafting developments and standards that modernize the field.
